Tonight...

For those of you wondering what went on tonight, here's a brief recap.

The Rifenburgs are in Puerto Rico, and the Bains were on the way to the beach. Mike and I went to the Smiths for some delicious burgers & watermelon. By the way, Mike REALLY liked the watermelon. We played Rayman on Wii, and then played a quick game of Hanging Gardens. Ches was the winner!

Next week (June 23), I will be in Mobile, so someone just post what Mike needs to prepare. The following week (June 30), I can do pot roast. We can talk about the fixins later.

Have a great rest of the week!

Miss Alabama - Nite 3

Last night, Jaye competed in evening wear in her royal blue dress. Let me just say that her matching earrings looked FABULOUS with the beautiful gown! AKB & Tanner joined us last nite, too. AKB also looked stunning in her turquoise silk pant suit.

Jaye will find out at lunch today her placement in community service. Tonight, the top 10 will be announced, and they will re-compete in swimsuit, talent, and evening wear. Check the Miss Alabama web page for updates throughout the nite for updates.

Miss Alabama - Nite 2

Well, the competition got a little stiffer last nite. Jaye competed in swimsuit, and she's in a tough group! She looked good, but the contestant right before her won the preliminary award for swimsuit. The good news is that the jello and chicken paid off! Jaye also had her on stage question last nite. Her question was "Should judges be elected or appointed?" Her answer was something to the extent that if you choose good elected officials as your leaders, then you can trust their judgement for appointing judges. Tonite, Jaye competes in evening gown.

Jaye was VERY pleased with her community service interview! Jaye was so happy she got to talk about her platform (character) and how to implement it into schools in an inexpensive manner. She also felt good about her Autauga County school interview. Thanks for the prayers!

Miss UM, Kylie, is also looking good on stage. Talent was last night, and while she did not play her trumpet perfectly, I would have given her a 7. That's pretty good! Tonite, she will be making history as the first Miss UM to wear a two piece swimsuit at Miss Alabama!!!!!! We alum are PUMPED!!!

Miss AU, Kimberly, competed in evening gown last night, and she looked lovely. She's going to twirl batons tonite, and I'm excited! I think she's good and entertaining! There's another good baton twirler in her group though that is also good. I think a little healthy competition is exciting!

I've attached pics of Jaye, Kylie, and Kimberly. Enjoy!

Miss Alabama - Nite 1

OK...Jaye competed in talent tonite, and she played beautifully!! Kylie competed in evening wear, and she looked great!

Jaye is a top 7 finalist for the community service award! This is a HUGE deal! This award is based on her scrapbook, which contains pictures and info on her appearances. So, a special thanks and shout out to AKB for hosting Jaye so many times!

Because of Jaye's community service nomination, she has an additional interview tomorrow. Jay also has a phone interview with the Autauga County School Board in the morning. There is an elementary music job that Jaye is applying for in Prattville, so she'd like to do well. Please mention these things in your prayers! Thanks so much! Jaye sends her love! Check back tomorrow for another update!

P.S. The other person in the pics is our friend Shannon from ATL.
